Kiera Lichtenwalner, BD, Si Beginning with her first pregnancy in 2006, Kiera sought out many resources and had educated herself on pregnancy and all things related to childbirth. She wanted to make sure she knew every little detail about childbirth and labor - after all, this was HER BIRTH.
She came to realize that not all parents-to-be do this; they do what seems to be 'the norm' or what women in their own family before them did. She once read that people spend more time choosing a new vehicle than they do making decisions regarding their birth. Working as a doula allows her to help educate women and act as a resource to families in the community. She believes that families deserve to be able to make choices in childbirth and that their voices should be heard and respected.
So why "motherbaby naturals"? What does that mean? "Motherbaby" is a term that is used to recognize the mom/baby dyad. Dyad is defined as "a group of two" and "two persons involved in an ongoing relationship or interaction", according to dictionary.com. Birth is certainly an ongoing interaction! "Naturals" is a term to describe the type of parenting products sold at the store. Kiera is passionate about Eco-friendly alternatives to typical products.
